March 21 is International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan co-ordinates a provincial March 21 campaign. Supported by the provincial department of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, this campaign includes distributing posters featuring the Saskatchewan tiger lily design shown above and the provincial motto: From Many Peoples Strength. These posters are distributed to all Saskatchewan schools free of charge as well as to many organizations, businesses and individuals. We also air a public service announcement on CTV featuring the Saskatchewan band Wide Mouth Mason. In addition, we support many school and community projects. Here is a summary of the 2008 campaign. If you have an event to tell us about or if you would like a tiger lily poster, please email mcos@accesscomm.ca or call (306) 721-2767. We are also selling Multicoloured Bows for $1 each plus postage which you can wear to show your support for diversity. Please click on the link to order or for more information.

Our appreciation to all of the schools, organizations, individuals, corporations and government departments that participate in the March 21 campaign. We know that many of you have extended this day into a week or a month of activities and that many of you are working on this cause all year round. That really does demonstrate the Saskatchewan motto: From Many Peoples Strength.
